The Modern Letter Opener from Hannah Martin London Is Now Available.

Hannah Martin of London, known for their elegant and modern jewelry designs, was set the task of reinventing the traditional letter opener by Wallpaper* Magazine earlier this year, as part of their 'Handmade' Issue.

They had so many requests to put this into production, they caved under popular demand and have put the beautiful desk accessory into production in three finishes.

As with their jewels, this letter opener is handmade from start to finish in London.

House Industries Designs Hand-Printed Eames Tables For Herman Miller Asia-Pacific

The very hip type foundry House Industries has teamed up with Herman Miller to produce a limited edition series of 80 Eames wire-base tables.



The Eames wire based low tables (LTR) include letters, numbers and ornaments from their Eames Century Modern font collection.



Each tabletop is hand-printed by House’s own David Dodde in their Grand Rapids, Michigan factory, returned to Herman Miller for assembly then packaged in a special House Industries-designed wooden crate.



Andy Cruz originally showed sketches of a printed LTR table to Yoko Sasaki, Marketing director of Herman Miller Japan, during his trip to Tokyo in 2010. Soon after House Industries got busy with the Eames Office and Herman Miller in Zeeland, Michigan to bring the sketches to life. As with most House Industries projects, they tried their best to make the packaging for this limited edition something you wouldn’t throw away once the table was removed. I believe they succeeded.

Forty tables will be available in Hong Kong at the Herman Miller Reach event on September 16, 2011 and 40 will be available at the House Industries exhibition at the Herman Miller Tokyo Showroom on October 27, 2011.

Bookends For Letter Lovers. A-Z Cast Concrete Bookends by Jochen Korn.

The “A-Z” bookend series from the designer Jochen Korn are manufactured from special concrete and weighing roughly 2.5 kg each so they not only provide a charming optical frame for supporting light books and magazines, but offer reliable support to illustrated books, encyclopaedia and heavy collections of books.




Cast as six different bookends, each featuring four letters:








The special sophisticated cast procedure used to work the concrete material makes each bookend is unique, with a surface structure that differs slightly from all the others. The bookends are mounted on a stainless steel base with a non-slip rubber underside that protects surfaces.

Fontable Letter & Number Tables Spell Out C-O-O-L.

Designers Alessandro Canepa & Andrea Paulicelli of Italy's Mamadesignlab have created Fontable, a collection of alphanumeric metal tables.



The new concept in modular elements brings a revolution to the world of furnishing accessories, building upon a graphic matrix to turn it into an item for interior design.





FONTABLE are alphanumeric elements reproducing letters from A to Z in lower and upper case and numbers from 0 to 9 which become modular tables. Each element acquires three dimensions and personality and can be played around with, to customize ever changing and dynamic shapes.





Tables are made in steel sheet with lacquered varnishing in white, black and red, with legs in anodized aluminum of adjustable height allowing to overlap table surfaces. Special finishing and further color variations are available on demand.
